There are over 100 kms of Beaches and coves on the Costa
Blanca. There are many shops and there lots of markets in
the region the biggest being every Friday in Torrevieja.
Because of the amazing amounts of things to do and see,
we have chosen but a small selection of activities that
we consider a must for any Costa Blanca adventurers, be
they young children or adults
The Costa Blanca also known as the White Coast, extends
along the section of the Mediterranean coast which corresponds
to the province of Alicante. It is made up of two clearly
differentiated scenic sectors. To the North, a curtain of
mountains runs parallel to the sea, descending at times
to form cliffs; to the South, a vast plain of sand patches,
palm trees and salt deposits make up the backdrop for the
beaches.
Many
holidaymakers will be spend their time on the beaches and
there are hundreds of beaches to choose from. Some slope
gently and are thronged with people; others are tucked away
in coves beneath spectacular cliffs, assuring all the privacy
and tranquility of a desert island.
Like resorts elsewhere in the Mediterranean, those on the
Costa Blanca have no lifeguards. There are Red Cross offices
on the most popular beaches, but other
than that, you're on your own. Flags are used at all beaches
to advise swimmers of sea conditions: a green flag means
the sea is safe for swimming, while a red flag warns of
danger. Normal precautions apply here as elsewhere: beware
especially of water-skiers and speed-boats, which sometimes
stray from their flagged areas.
